FFXIV features an expansive world for players to explore, making traversal time-consuming on foot. However, this popular MMORPG provides numerous mounts that help players traverse more quickly through its world.
These mounts consist of:
Resplendent Vessel of Ronka
The Resplendent Vessel of Ronka is one of the more unique mounts available in Final Fantasy XIV, taking the shape of a crescent moon and featuring multiple arms for flying or carrying players. Players who complete an Extreme Trial (such as Abyssal Fracture or Endwalker Trials involving Zeromus), which pit them against him to protect the world against his plans to destroy it can obtain this mount.
FFXIV features an abundance of mounts to help players traverse its vast worlds, from powerful horses to high-tech vehicles. Players can acquire many different mounts through content creation or through market board sales or from specific NPCs.
Some of the more famous mounts in FFXIV, like the Troll and Incitatus, can be purchased with Gil, but there are also ways to earn them through achievements that could provide an efficient means of earning Gil.
Troll
The Troll, introduced with patch 6.1, is a unique mount with humorous design that will appeal to players who find pugs or bulldogs adorable.
Mounts can be earned by completing two quests Keeping Up with Aliapohs and Fantastic Mr. Faux in Idyllshire at X:7, Y:5.9. Once these missions have been accomplished, players can earn Faux Leaves through playing weekly Unreal Trials; once completed they may exchange 600 leaves for one Troll Horn.
Unfortunately, housing and market boards are unavailable to free trial players; therefore they can only spend FFXIV gil on melding, travel, repairs and vendor items. We hope that these two features will soon be implemented as they would make the game much more exciting for newcomers! In the meantime, your best use for spending your gil would be on purchasing one or more of the following eight mounts:
Incitatus
Patch 6.5 will offer players a chance to unlock the Incitatus mount by successfully completing The Abyssal Fracture extreme version – one of the new trials – against Zeromus, an extremely powerful voidsent that wishes to destroy Earth. Once complete, players will find themselves riding an elegant blue bird through game world terrain!
This mount costs 50 Million ffxiv gil and is reserved exclusively for high-level characters in Mor Dhona. It boasts its own special look and plays a special OST when riding it; purchase can be done from Edelina in Mor Dhona; however free trial players cannot due to only being allowed to use Gil on melding, housing and market board activities – in order to prevent people spending all of their gil on just one mount; furthermore its free trial period has also been intentionally limited for maximum efficiency.
Dodo
The Dodo was an intriguing-looking bird that was hunted to extinction for its feathers and eggs, though recently, thanks to an unexpected find of its nest high up in Heaven-on-High, there is hope that its species might still exist.
Players in Final Fantasy XIV can earn and purchase mounts to help navigate Eorzea and beyond, through either the Market Board or directly from NPCs. Furthermore, they may use Gil to buy orchestral rolls and materials for crafting gear – although during their trial period access to Gil is limited for these purposes (and possibly others as well).
Not only is a player’s mount an iconic status symbol, it can also provide faster travel to scenic vistas than walking. There are various methods available in FFXIV for getting one: including the Recruit a Friend campaign and Starlight Celebration event as well as completing Raids/Dungeons to earn Gold Chocobo Feathers.
